DESCRIPTION:Preparing Grant Proposals\n\n"RSVP to RFP"\n\nThursday March 22nd  9-11 AM \n\n@287 Gallery ||  287 Main Street\, Danbury\nIn the Request for Proposals (RFPs) workshop\, participants will prepare a mock proposal that reflects their organization's identified mission.\n\n\n	Learn the language of proposals\n	Recognize crucial elements of a proposal \n	Identify goals and objectives\n	Match activities to objectives and line the activities in the evaluation\n	How to Measure Success\n	Quick Hit of Budget Do's and Don'ts\n\nPhilip Segan \n\nPhilip Segan is a retired education teacher who has taught students from elementary to graduate school. Segan earned his Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Administration from Fordham University. He went on to editing and publishing two chapters in a reading methodology text for educators teaching bilingual learners. And later writing a monograph on Proposal Writing\, published by Sundance Publishers. Dr. Segan was a consultant to the U.S. Department of Education of Education\, where he organized week-long rating sessions to read\, score\, and recommend proposals for funding from the Office of Bilingual Education and Minority Language Affairs of the DOE for six years. When he's not collecting art or preparing gourmet meals with his partner John\, Philip serves on a number of boards such as: The United Jewish Center\, where he is the president and the Latino Scholarship Fund as a Public Relations Officer. Philip Segan is also an advisor and events judge for the New York State Future Business Leaders of America\, for which he conducts workshops\, helps students prepare for competitions\, and judges competitive events both locally and at the NY State conference in Rochester\, NY.
