WestConn is pleased to offer the
Excel Fundamentals Certificate Program, a hands-on, non-credit program designed to help professionals, job seekers, and students build practical Excel skills that can be applied immediately in the workplace.
The program emphasizes real-world application using Microsoft Office 365 and SIMnet’s interactive learning platform. Participants will develop competency in creating and editing Excel workbooks, using formulas and functions to solve practical problems, designing clear and effective charts, and organizing and managing data with confidence. This certificate leads to a micro-credential and is ideal for individuals seeking to upskill, improve productivity, or strengthen their resume with a workforce-relevant credential.

This program will be led by WCSU Associate Professor of Management Information Systems, Dr. Jennifer Flynn:
Dr. Jennifer Flynn is an Associate Professor of Management Information Systems at Western Connecticut State University. She holds a DPS in Applied Computing and an MBA in Management Information Systems from Pace University, and a BBA in MIS from WCSU. Her background includes work as a Systems Analyst at Kraft General Foods and PepsiCo, and as a consultant implementing OLAP databases. She has taught at WCSU full time since 2011, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in information systems, databases, and systems analysis and design, and has over 30 years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
