This fall, New Pond Farm Education Center invites you to celebrate the season in a whole new way during the Hayfield Hustle & Family Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

The Hayfield Hustle & Family Oktoberfest is a new community celebration of outdoor entertainment, conservation, and sustainable agriculture. The day begins with a Children's Sap Run, and then a 5K or 5-Mile race, followed by a Family Oktoberfest featuring live music by local musicians, scenic hayrides, a property-wide Discovery Challenge, lawn games, crafts, and hands-on activities for children. Visitors of all ages can enjoy delicious local food, craft beer, and seasonal refreshments as they explore New Pond Farm's beautiful102-acre campus.

More than a road race, the Hayfield Hustle & Family Oktoberfest reflects New Pond Farm's focus on community and sustainability. "Our hope is that people come for the race, stay for the day, and leave having discovered New Pond Farm in a whole new way," said Priya Desai, Executive Director of New Pond Farm Education Center. "Nature is our greatest unifier, and this event is about bringing generations together to celebrate the outdoors, support sustainable agriculture, and experience a place that has inspired environmental stewardship for more than 40 years. We hope families return year after year and ultimately become part of the New Pond Farm community."

Throughout the afternoon, guests are encouraged to experience the Farm at their own pace—meeting farm animals, exploring woodlands, wetlands, meadows, and pastures, visiting Astronomy Hill, enjoying scenic hayrides, and completing the Discovery Challenge.

Each year, more than 10,000 visitors come to New Pond Farm for hands-on environmental education and outdoor experiences. Proceeds from the Hayfield Hustle & Family Oktoberfest help ensure that preschoolers, students, families, adults, lifelong learners, and underserved communities continue to have access to meaningful experiences that foster curiosity, strengthen community, and inspire lifelong stewardship of the land.
