Description
Get ready to Jump, Jive, an’ Wail because Louis Prima Jr and the Witnesses are bringing swing to the Danbury area on Friday, November 10.
Louis Prima Jr. picks up the torch lit by his iconic father, renowned singer and bandleader, Louis Prima, whose career spanned four decades with hits like “Jump Jive and Wail,” “Angelina,” “Just A Gigolo,” “That Old Black Magic,” “When Your Smilin” and “Sing, Sing, Sing.”
Make no mistake, this is no tribute act. Prima Jr and his powerhouse 8-piece band, the Witnesses, have revived the boogie woogie spirit for a modern generation, seamlessly blending big band jazz, danceable swing and real rock 'n' roll.
“My goal was to create a show in my father’s style but with a contemporary vibe and rock twist that would be like no other,” LPJ says. “It was important for me to find a group of musicians who, like me, believed in creating something unique… You can’t fool the fans by trying to force the word ‘daddy-o’ into every song. If music does not come honestly from your soul, it will ultimately be short lived.”
Palace audiences will be treated to an evening of classics from the Prima catalog along with selections from Prima Jr’s newest CDs, plus a healthy dose of sure-to-please surprises.
Showtime is at 8PM on Friday, November 10. Ticket prices range from $40 to $50 and may be ordered by phone at 203 794-9944, at the box office starting at 7:00 PM day of show, or online at
